Trivia

    Album

  • Viju Shah, the son of composer Kalyanji Virji Shah of Kalyanji - Anandji fame, made his debut as a music director with one song in this film. Prior to this film, he had assisted Kalyanji - Anandji in several films including "Jaanbaaz" (1986). He made his debut as a solo music director for the film "Muqaddar Ka Badshaah" (1990).[1][2]
  • Rajiv Rai had wanted to repeat the three male leads of this very successful film - Naseeruddin Shah, Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff - for "Vishwatma" (1992). However, this was the period when Jackie Shroff's son Tiger was born and the actor was declining all films that required him to travel out of Mumbai. Rajiv Rai, therefore, had to bring in Chunky Pandey in his place for "Vishwatma" (1992).[3][4]
  • This film was rehashed by Kanti Shah for the film "Rangbaaz" (1996). Mithun Chakraborty had three roles in "Rangbaaz" playing the characters that were played by Naseeruddin Shah, Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff in this film.[5]
  • Actor Raza Murad's niece, actress Sonam, played his daughter in this film.
  • This was actress Sonam's first film with director Rajiv Rai. The two worked together again in the film "Vishwatma" (1992). They got married in 1991 and never worked together again.[6]

    Song

  • Tridev - 1 - This track was adapted from the song "One More Chance" (1984) by the British pop duo Pet Shop Boys.[7]
  • Tirchhi Topi Wale Babu Bhole Bhaale - The vocalisation in this song was borrowed from "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" (1987) by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine. This vocalisation was used in another song in the film - "Gazar Ne Kiya Hai Ishara". It was later used in the song "Oye Oye" ("Double Dhamaal", 2011), an otherwise original composition.[8][9]
  • Gazar Ne Kiya Hai Ishara (Oye Oye) - This song was recreated by DJ Chetas for the film "Azhar" (2016).[10]
  • Gali Gali Mein Phirta Hai Tu Kyun Ban Ke Banjaara - This song was recreated by Tanishk Bagchi for the film "KGF Chapter 1" (2018).[11]
