  • This was Madhur Bhandarkar's directorial debut. Its making took three years and it was a flop when it was released. He almost gave up on his ambition to become a filmmaker. However, it was a producer who had seen this film, R. Mohan, who gave him the opportunity to direct his next film "Chandni Bar" (2001).[1][2]

  • Paisa Paisa Paisa - The tune of the hook line of this song was plagiarised from the song "Tic Tic Tac" (1996) by the Brazilian band Carrapicho.[3]
