• The film was director Ram Gopal Varma's Hindi remake of his own Kannada film "Killing Veerappan" (2016), a biopic of the real-life dacoit Veerappan. Veerappan operated in the forests of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, and gained notoriety for sandalwood smuggling and kidnapping, including that of the popular Kannada film star Rajkumar. Actor Sandeep Bharadwaj played the titular role in both films. Ram Gopal Varma had previously directed the film "Jungle" (2000) which had a character based on the bandit.[1]

गीत

• खल्लास - This was a cover version of a hit song from the film "Company" (2002). It featured a few new lines in addition to the mukhda of the original song composed by Sandeep Chowta and written by Nitin Raikwar. This was a promotional song with a video shot on actress Zarine Khan. It was part of the film's music album but did not feature in the film.[2][3]
