Trivia

    Album

  • A little before its shooting was to begin, the makers of this film became aware of another film with a similar title, "Veerey Ki Wedding" (2018). Anil Kapoor, who was one of the producers of this film, wrote to the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA) alleging that "Veerey Ki Wedding" (2018) was attempting to get free publicity by using a title similar to that of a bigger film. However, IMPPA dismissed his complaint since the producers of "Veerey Ki Wedding" (2018) had a registered trademark for their film's title. The makers of this film also filed a petition with the Bombay High Court to prevent the usage of the title "Veerey Ki Wedding" (2018) but their request was denied.[1][2]
  • This was Kareena Kapoor's first film in two years, ending the sabbatical she had taken after she got pregnant with her first child. When the makers of the film found out that the actress was expecting, they considered changing the script to accommodate her. This option did materialise since the film could not be insured due to her pregnancy. Kapoor offered to quit so that the film could proceed with another actress. However, producer Rhea Kapoor - a close friend of Kareena - was insistent on doing the film with her and decided to wait till she returned. Work on the film was resumed after Kareena's maternity leave - a little over six months after her son Taimur Ali Khan was born.[3][4]
  • Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor was initially cast in the role that was played by Sumeet Vyas. He was replaced in the aftermath of the 2016 Uri attack when there was a political and public backlash against Hindi films featuring Pakistani actors.[5]
  • The film drew largely negative reactions. Many criticised the film as being vulgar. A scene in which Swara Bhaskar's character masturbates herself was singled out for ridicule on social media. Some critics observed that while the film promised to be a celebration of independent women, it ended up furthering many sexist tropes.[6][7][8]
  • The film was banned in Pakistan for its vulgar language and content.[9]

    Song

  • Tareefan - The song featured artists Qaran and Badshah on the screen. It was used in the film's end credits.
