This was the first Hindi film of the Punjabi filmmaker Navaniat Singh. It was also Punjabi film actor Binnu Dhillon's first Hindi film in a key role. He had appeared in "Dev.D" (2009) earlier.[3]
Song
Rafta Rafta Medley - This was a medley of cover versions of old Hindi film songs - "Are Rafta Rafta Dekho Aankh Meri Ladi Hai" ("Kahani Kismat Ki", 1973), "O Mere Sona Re Sona Re Sona Re" ("Teesri Manzil", 1966), "Salaam-E-Ishq Meri Jaan Zara Qubool Kar Lo" ("Muqaddar Ka Sikandar", 1978), and "Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana" ("Pratiggya", 1975). Refrains of "O Meri Mehbooba Mehbooba Mehbooba" ("Dharam Veer", 1977) were also used. The medley featured Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, and Rekha in cameos. The song "O Mere Sona Re Sona Re Sona Re" ("Teesri Manzil", 1966) was filmed on Sonakshi Sinha, nicknamed Sona. This was perhaps the only time she appeared alongside her father Shatrughan Sinha. The song "Salaam-E-Ishq Meri Jaan Zara Qubool Kar Lo" ("Muqaddar Ka Sikandar", 1978) was filmed on Rekha, on whom the original song was filmed. The original version of "Are Rafta Rafta Dekho Aankh Meri Ladi Hai" ("Kahani Kismat Ki", 1973) was filmed on Dharmendra and Rekha who were seen together again in this song.[4][5][6][7][8]
