Trivia

    Song

  • Kya Yeh Zindagi Hai Kaisi Bebasi Hai - S.D. Burman sang a line in the song in two different places but was not officially credited for it.
  • Mera Naam Aao Mere Paas Aao (Mere Paas Aao To Mera Naam Jao) - Actor Danny Denzongpa debuted as a singer in this song. Interestingly, he did not have an acting role in the film.
  • Mera Naam Aao Mere Paas Aao (Mere Paas Aao To Mera Naam Jao) - This film, in general, and this song, in particular, was considered by the Naga people as being racist. The "Aao" referred to in this song was considered to be an allusion to the Ao Naga tribe and the song's lyrics were found to be offensive in this context. Several protests were organised against the film in Shillong, Meghalaya. The filmmakers gave in to these protests and re-released the film with two changes. Firstly, they added a disclaimer in the film's opening - "The customs depicted in this film, folk dances, dresses etc. have no parallel with any of the tribes in Nagaland." Secondly, they reshot the song with different lyrics. So, while the audio records continued to have the lyrics that were considered offensive, the film had a sanitised version of the song.
  • Raina Soyi Soyi Naina Jaage Jaage - This was the only Hindi film song in which father and son S.D. Burman and R.D. Burman were credited as singers. It was also S.D. Burman's last released song as a singer.
  • Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindostan Hamara - The two versions of this song were not included in the LP records but were issued separately on an SP record. Its tune was originally composed by Pandit Ravi Shankar, but he was not credited for it on the record.
