Trivia

    Album

  • The title of this film was taken from a hit song in the film "Jawani Diwani" (1972). In its opening, the film acknowledged Shrishti Arya and Goldie Behl of Rose Movies, the banner that produced "Jawani Diwani" (1972).[1]
  • Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) at the time, took to Twitter to complain about the fact that most of the locations in the film that were represented as Manali, Himachal Pradesh were, in fact, shot in Gulmarg, J&K. He tweeted "Those of you planning to visit Manali because of what you saw in #YJHD except for the temple and Span resort it's all Gulmarg." and "It's irritating when we roll out the red carpet & facilitate the shoot only to have people believe its Manali. Artistic Licence #YJHD.". The CM also wondered if the film had at least credited the state. In response to this, a spokesperson of Dharma Productions was quoted as saying "The opening credit slate clearly mentions Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tourism Minister GA Mir and Inspector-General of Police SM Sahal. The names of the entire crew in Kashmir has been mentioned in the credits of the film.".[2][3]
  • Shortly after the film's theatrical release, Hamdard National Foundation, the makers of the drink Rooh Afza, filed a case of trademark infringement against the makers of this film. They claimed that an exchange in the film had damaged the brand's reputation. This exchange happens between Tanvi Azmi and Ranbir Kapoor who play mother and son in the film. When Ranbir says "Yeh Rooh Afza bahut bekaar hai.", Tanvi responds "Sab theek ho jayega", to which Ranbir says "Siwaay is Rooh Afza ke. Bahut bura hai.". The court ruled that these lines did amount to trademark infringement and stayed the film's release on television and home video media. They noted that since the film had already been released in theatres, the ruling did not apply to the theatrical release. The court allowed the filmmakers to proceed with the television and home video releases with the objectionable lines removed. However, Hamdard refused to settle the matter even after the lines were removed from the television and home video versions. They insisted on getting an apology from the filmmakers.[4][5][6]

    Song

  • Ghagra - Madhuri Dixit made a cameo appearance in the film for this song. It was her first Hindi film appearance in seven years. The last two Hindi films she had appeared in prior to this were "Aaja Nachle" (2006) and "Devdas" (2002). The announcement before the song introduced her character as Mohini, which was the name of her character in her breakthrough film "Tezaab" (1988).[7][8][9]
