- This film was loosely adapted from the Hollywood thriller "Cape Fear" (1991). "Cape Fear" itself was a remake of the 1962 film with the same title. The 1962 film was based on the novel "The Executioners" (1957) by John D. MacDonald. Director Raj Sippy had made a film with a similar plot earlier - "Qayamat" (1983).[1]
- This was Rajiv Babbar's last film as a producer. He produced ten Hindi films in his career under the banner of Aabha Films and all ten of them featured Mithun Chakraborty.
