- This film was an adaptation of the Malayalam film "Kadalpalam" (1962) which in turn was based on K.T. Muhammed's play of the same title.
- This was the only film for which Kishore Kumar composed the music but did not act in. He was so disappointed by the film's failure that he decided that he would never compose again for any banner other than his own.[1]
