Asad Amanat Ali Khan was a Pakistani ghazal and classical singer of the Patiala gharana. Born on 25 September 1955 in Lahore, Khan died young on 8 April 2007 in London while undergoing treatment for a heart condition. He has received the President’s Award for Pride of Performance.

Asad is the son of the famous singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan and the brother of Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, a popular musician and playback singer in Bollywood. His first song was recorded for his grandfather’s debut album when he was only ten years old.

His contributions to film music include songs he sang in Pakistani movies like "Tu Shama-E-Mohabbat Hai" ("Shama-E-Mohabbat", 1977) and "Tu Mere Pyar Ka Geet Hai" ("Awaz", 1978). In Bollywood, he has sung Babul Bose’s song "Laila Roi Sohni Roi" from the 1991 movie "Meet Mere Man Ke". One of his staple songs in concerts - arguably his most popular hit song - was "Insha Ji Utho".
