Aziz Kashmiri was a song writer in the Hindi film industry in the fifties.
Songs written by him include “Huzoorewala Jo Ho Ijazat To” (“Yeh Raat Phir Na Ayegi”, 1966), “Kehta Tha Zamana Magar” (“Aag Ka Dariya”, 1953), “Chalak Raha Hai Nigahon Se Pyar” (“Dholak”, 1951), “Mukhda Balam Ka Chand Ko Sharmaye” (“Mukhda”, 1951), “Kaga Re Ja Re Ja Re” (“Wafa”, 1950) and “Dilli Se Aaya Bhai Tingu” (“Ek Thi Ladki”, 1949). His lines have been set to tune by music directors like O. P. Nayyar, Shankar-Jaikishan, Vinod and Shyam Sundar. Playback singers like G. M. Durrani, Lata Mangeshkar, Sulochana Kadam, Asha Bhosle, Minoo Purushottam and Mohammad Rafi have lent their voice to his words.
