Basant Prakash was a music composer in the Hindi film industry. His elder brother Khemchand Prakash was also a music composer in the industry. He gave music for 12 films during his career.
Born on 27 January 1928, he was 68 years old when he passed away on 19 March 1996. He married twice and has eight children. “Sajan Tumse Pyar Main Karoon Kaisi” (“Badnaam”, 1952), “Kehte Hai Jise Pyar” (“Anarkali”, 1953) and “Rukh Pe Powder Labh Pe Surkhi” (“Hum Kahan Ja Rahe Hain”, 1966) are some of the songs composed by him. “Jyot Jale” (1968), “Maharani” (1957), “Neelofar” (1957), “Saloni” (1952) and “Shrimatiji” are some of the films whose soundtrack he is credited with.
