He took his first tabla lessons from his father and noted tabla player, Pandit Shankar Ghosh. He has performed with Pandit Ravi Shankar for over a decade. He is married to actress Jaya Sil. In 2008, he composed the original music for “Little Zizou”. In 2010, he scored music for “Gumshuda” featuring singers like Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, June Banerjee, Dohar, Ronita De and Rupankar and lyrics by Rakesh Tripathy
