Chinmayi Sripada is a playback singer, voice actor, television anchor, radio jockey and entrepreneur. Her mother, T. Padmahasini, trained her in Carnatic and Hindustani music from an early age. She won several singing contests through school and college. It was following her win on the Sun TV reality show, Saptaswarangal, that she was introduced to A.R. Rahman by singer Srinivas, who was a judge on the program.

She started her career on a high note singing "Oru Deivam Thanta Poove" ("Kannathil Muthamittal", Tamil, 2002). Her Hindi film debut was "Holi Re" ("Mangal Pandey: The Rising", 2005).
"Sahana" ("Sivaji: The Boss", 2007), "Vaarayo Vaarayo" ("Aadhavan", 2009), "Anbil Avan" ("Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya", 2010) and "Kilimanjaro" ("Enthiran", 2010) are some of her other popular songs. She won Filmfare South, Isiaaruvi Tamil and Vijay Awards in 2009 for "Vaarayo Vaarayo" ("Aadhavan"). In 2002 and 2007 she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for the Best Female Playback Singer. She has been awarded many other accolades in appreciation of her talent.
Chinamayi is a polyglot and is the founder of a translation services company, Blue Elephant.
