Dada Kondke was an actor and producer in Marathi films and also a lyricist.
Born as Krishna Kondke to a mill worker in Naigao, Mumbai on 8 August 1932, Kondke became the Guinness Book of World Records holder for the most number of films to have achieved a silver jubilee. His movies were always based around the ‘aam-admi’ and he used the same team of actors, singers and technicians from his debut film in the hope of recreating its success each time.
He died of a cardiac arrest on 14 March 1998 at the age of 65 in Mumbai.
