Dibakar Banerjee is a two-time National Award winning director. His repertoire includes “Khosla Ka Ghosla” (2006), “Oye Lucky Lucky Oye” (2008), “Love Sex Aur Dhokha” (2010) and “Shanghai” (2012).
Born in 1969, Banerjee grew up in West Delhi. He dropped out of National Institute of Design and began a career in advertising. He is married to Richa Puranesh and has a daughter named Ira.
For his Fimfare award-winning movie “Oye Lucky Lucky Oye”, he penned the lines for three of the hit songs, “Oye Lucky”, “Superchor” and “Hooriyaan”. In his next film, “Love Sex Aur Dhokha”, he wrote all the five songs including the title track. For his political thriller, “Shanghai”, Banerjee wrote the song “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
