Dominique Cerejo is a playback singer in the Hindi film industry. Her tryst with music began with competitions at church. Soon she was performing at nightclubs and singing jingles for advertisements. Her initial break came through Ranjit Barot’s Hindi adaptation of the soundtrack of Disney’s “Alladin” (1992).
Shankar Mahadevan, who had worked with her for ad jingles, offered her the chance to sing in Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s debut album, “Dus”. Though that project was shelved she went on to sing with many major names in the industry like A.R. Rahman, Vishal Bhardwaj, Pritam Chakraborty and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
Her career defining work is the hit song “Ye Tumhari Meri Baatein” (“Rock On!!”, 2008) for which she won several awards. Dominique is married to Clinton Cerejo who is himself a singer, music producer and composer.
