Sivamani is a popular percussionist who has been the drummer on many hit movies in the film industry. He has been an actor and also tried his hand at singing in films.
Born as Anandan Sivamani in 1959 to percussionist S.M. Anandan, he took to the drums at the age of 7. He plays several percussion instruments like Octoban, Darbuka, Udukai and Kanjira. His career began at the age of 11.

Some of the popular movies he has played the drums in include “Roja” (1992), “Dil Se” (1998), “Taal” (1999), “Lagaan” (2001), “Swades” (2004), “Rang De Basanti” (2006), “Kabul Express” (2006) and “Guru” (2007).
As a playback singer he has sung the song “Dance Master” along with Shaan in the 2008 film “Money Hai Toh Honey Hai” for which Nitin Nitz Arora and Sony Chandy composed the music. The other song featuring him in the movie is “Hope” which is an instrumental track.
