Gayatri Ganjawala is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML), Gayatri Iyer is a Bollywood playback singer who has been active in the industry since 1996. One of her chartbuster numbers is “My Dil goes Mmmm” from the 2005 Saif-Preity starrer “Salaam Namaste”.
Beginning with “Gulabi” in 1995, she has performed songs including “Dil Bole Shikdum” in “Dhoom” (2004), “No Life Without Wife” in “Bride and Prejudice” (2004), “Jaago Na” in “Kya Kool Hai Hum” (2005), “Haan Maine Chookar Dekha Hain” in “Black” (2005), “Because I Love You” in “Anthony Kaun Hai?” (2006), “Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani” in “Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd” (2007) and “So Right” in “Roadside Romeo” (2008).
In summer 2007, Gayatri fetched herself the part of Princess Anjuli in the West End of London musical production “The Far Pavillions” by M.M. Kaye. She is fond of live performances and has performed extensively in UK and Europe.
Additional to being a playback singer in Bollywood she has contributed to over 300 commercials for popular brands like Liril, Sunsilk, Pepsi, Godrej, Vatika, Mr. Morepan, Coke and Fair & Lovely. Likewise, she has also contributed to “Ja Re Ja” the Desi Boyz hit remix and “Choti Si Umar Mein” by Saregama-HMV.
In 2003, she was nominated at Stardust Award for her rendition of “Mohabbat Hai Mirchi” from the film “Chura Liya Hai Tumne”. Similarly, she was nominated for the title track of Zee TV's popular soap Lipstick at the Indiantelevision.com Awards. In 2005 she married the popular playback singer Kunal Ganjawala.
