Kalpana Patowary, who hails from Assam, is a popular name in Bhojpuri music and is also a playback singer in Bollywood.
She is the daughter of Assamese folk singer Bipin Chandra Nath and the disciple of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. Her debut album in Bhojpuri “Gawanwa Leja Rajaji” (2003) was a massive hit. In 2010 she performed as a part of Commonwealth Games Dellhi. Monty Sharma’s “Tikhi Tikhi Mirch (Folk Version)” (“Mirch”, 2010), Pritam Chakraborty’s “Isak Se Meetha” (“Aakrosh”, 2010) and “Aila Re Aila” (“Khatta Meetha”, 2010) and Sanjeev Srivastava’s “Men Not Allowed - II” (“Men Not Allowed”, 2006) are some of the songs she has sung in Bollywood.
