It was when he accompanied his father for recording the songs of “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” (1999), that he found his calling as playback singer.
His Hindi film singing debut came in 2003 with the film “Surya”. In 2005, he participated in the reality show, Fame Gurukul. Although he was eliminated in the show, he got noticed and got opportunities to sing ad jingles for composers like Ranjit Barot and Ram Sampath. His big breakthrough came when he was invited to sing for A.R. Rahman’s “Mayya”, (“Guru”, 2007).
Some of his popular songs are “Switty” and “I Hate You” (“Delhi Belly”, 2011) and “Bharat Ma Ki Jai” (“Shanghai”, 2012).
