Lalit Pandit is a music director in Hindi films and gained tremendous popularity along with his brother Jatin Pandit as Jatin - Lalit.
He was born in Jodhpur in Rajasthan and is Pandit Jasraj’s nephew. Born into the Mewati Gharana he received his initial training from his father Pandit Pratap Narayan. He also learnt to play the guitar and the piano from Laxmikant - Pyarelal.

He started his career along with his brother in the year 1991 with the foot-tapping number, “Bin Tere Sanam” (“Yaara Dildaara”, 1991). The duo were the most sought after music directors during the late nineties.
He split from his brother in 2006 due to personal differences and went solo. He later composed music for five more films including the superhit song “Muni Badnam Hui” (“Dabaang”, 2010) for which he won the IIFA Award.
Lalit has played a small cameo role in “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander” and appears as judge in talent shows on TV.
