Pankaj Awasthi is a playback singer, music director, self-taught guitarist and producer of music in Bollywood. His style of singing is influenced by Sufi music and he has had no formal training. He is half of the Electronic Folk band duo “Mili Bhagat”
His hit song “Tera Hi Karam”, the title track of the feature film “Karam”, was written, composed and sung by him. He is also the music director of the hit soundtrack of the film “Anwar” (2007) where he sang “Jo Maine Aas Lagaai” and “Dilbar Mera Door Hua”. In the film “Anwar” he also penned the lines for the songs “Dilbar Mera”, “Jo Maine Aas Lagayi”, “Into The Black” and “Mela”.
Two years later he sang “Aye Saaye Mere” for the film “New York” (2009). He was also one of the music directors of the film. In 2011 he composed music for Sudhir Mishra’s “Tera Kya Hoga Johnny”. He also sang the songs “Leheron Ne Kaha”, “Shab Ko Roz” and “Peeche Peeche” in the film.
