P.K. Mishra was a poet and lyricist in the Hindi film industry best known for his work with music director A.R. Rahman in the 1990s. Two of his most famous songs are “Dil Hai Chotta Sa” and “Bharat Hum ko Jaan Se Pyara Hai” (“Roja”, 1992).
Born in 1943, this native of Churu, Rajasthan had moved to Chennai where he passed away on 24 December 2008. He has penned lines for nearly 25 movies.
Other movies he has worked on with A. R. Rahman include “Chor Chor” (1991), “Dalapati” (1993), “Hum Se Hai Muqabala” (1994) and “Hindustani” (1996).
