Educated at Hansraj College, Delhi, he is a communication graduate from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia and began his career with ANI-Reuters and then worked with Zee TV before venturing into films.

He wrote the songs for “Sarkar Raj” under the music direction of Bapi-Tutul. “Dil Dosti Etc.” (2007), “Contract” (2008), “Agyaat” (2009), “Rann” (2010) and “Always Kabhi Kabhi” (2011) are some of the other movies that his songs have appeared in. He has worked with music directors including Gourav Dasgupta, Imran-Vikram, Ashish Rego-Shree D., Pritam, Amar Mohile, Sidharth-Suhas and Agnee.
