Rafaqat Ali Khan is a Pakistani classical musician who has dabbled in playback singing in Bollywood. He has also composed music in Bollywood movies.
His inclination towards music probably stems from his father, Salamat Ali Khan and his unlce, Nazakat Ali Khan, both being classical music maestros known together as the Ali Brothers. It was in 1997 that Rafaqat first came to India.
He debuted in Bollywood singing “Maula” from the movie “Awarapan” (released 2007) which he also composed. This song hit it off with the audiences. Then came Rakesh Roshan’s “Krrish” (2006) where he sang “Main Hoon Woh Asmaan” composed by Rajesh Roshan. He also sang the title song in Pooja Bhatt’s “Dhoka” (2007) for music director M.M. Kreem.
Nasir Faraaz, Baba Farid, Shusbir Singh Shaad and Bharat Bhushan Pant are song writers who have penned songs sung by him.
