Raghuvir Yadav is an International award-winning actor and also a playback singer in the Hindi film industry. He was much appreciated for his rendition of “Mehngai Dayain” in “Peepli [Live]” (2010) along with the Bhadwai Village Mandali.
As a playback singer he has worked under the music direction of the likes of Vishal Bhardwaj, Ranjit Barot, Pritam, Salim-Sulaiman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Tapas Relia.
Apart from film songs, he has lent his voice to television advertisements for popular brands like Pepsi, Britannia, Parle and others. He has shown his art in music composition as well for a number of tele serials and plays. Adding to this, he collaborated with upcoming music composer Hitesh Sonik to sing ‘Lamh Tera’, a traditional Madhya Pradesh folk song, in the second episode of Coke Studio @ MTV.
Born on 25 June 1957 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Yadav always wanted to be a singer. He has been active in the Hindi film industry since 1985 when he debuted with Pradeep Krishen’s “Massey Sahib”.
