Truth Hurts is an American R & B singer. She was born Shari Watson on October 10, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri. Her father was a concert promoter.

She started her singing career in the mid ‘80s with a band called “Mystic Voyage”.

In the early ‘90s, she formed an R & B band called “Shug & Dap” and released just one single called “Anotha Man” in 1994, after which she was a songwriter for other singers like Mario Winans, Monifah and Shanice. In 2001 she acted in films like “Ali” and “The Wash”. She is best known for her 2002 debut single “Addictive”.

She collaborated with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for three songs in the movie “Marigold” in 2007.
