Soham Chakraborty is a Bollywood playback singer from Kolkata. His love for music started at an early age and he received training in Hindustani classical music under Pandit Jayendra Ghosh, Ustad Mohammed Sagaruddin Khan and Sukhdev Sengupta. On the advice of Bappi Lahiri and O.P. Nayyar, Soham moved to Mumbai after winning the "Sa Re Ga Ma" show on Zee TV in 2000.
Soham had to struggle for work during his early days in Mumbai. His luck turned when he met music director, Pritam, who engaged him to sing ad jingles for him. This was followed by singing offers for films like "Chaal Baaz" (2003), "Dhoom 2" (2006) and "Hattrick" (2007). However, he had to wait till "In Dino" (“Life In A Metro", 2007) for his first big hit.
He went on to sing songs like "Dhol Bajake" ("Dhol", 2007), "Tu Jaane Na - Reprise" ("Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani", 2009), "All The Best" ("All The Best”, 2009) and "Pal Mein Hi" ("Chance Pe Dance", 2010). To this date though, he has not been able to replicate the success of "Life In A Metro".
