Sonali Bajpai is a playback singer who sings in Bollywood and has been active in the industry since the late 80s.
Her rendition of “Kya Hai Tumhara Naam” from “Kaash” (1987) went on to become a popular song.
In “Do Qaidi” (1989) she sang the duet “Hum Rahe Na Rahe” along with Sadhana Sargam. It was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and written by Sameer. In 1991 she then sang LP’s hit number “Ek Dusre Se” for the film “Hum”. She then went on to sing the Anu Malik song “Tere Chehre Pe” in the superhit movie “Baazigar” (1993).
Since then she has sung songs like “Tu Mujhe Kaise” (“Rahul”, (2001), “Pyar Pyar Pyar” (“Company”, 2002), “Zindagi Ko” (“Haasil”, 2003) and “Kabhi Socha Na Tha Maine” (“Pyaar Kiya Nahin Jaata”, 2003).
Jatin-Lalit, Rajesh Roshan, Sandeep Chowta, Nitin Raikwar, Anand Raj Anand, Israr Ansari and Kalyanji-Anandji are some of the music directors she has collaborated with. Singers who have sung along with her include Sonu Nigam, Sadhna Sargam, Kumar Sanu, Mehmood, Mohammed Aziz, Manohar Shetty, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Suresh Wadkar and Babul Supriyo.
