Taz, born Tarsame Singh Saini, is a British playback singer and music composer of Indian descent in the Hindi film industry. He is also the lead vocalist of the band Stereo Nation which was floated in 1996.
Born in Coventry, United Kingdom, he is considered one of the pioneers of cross-cultural fusion music. His first hit album “Hit The Deck” was released in 1989.
Tracks he has sung in Bollywood include “Daroo Vich Pyar” (“Tum Bin”, 2001), “It’s Magic” (“Koi Mil Gaya”, 2003) and “Mujpe Toh Jadoo” (“Race”, 2008).
He turned composer in Bollywood in 2007 with the film “Don’t Stop Dreaming”. “We Don’t Need Boys” and “Hor Pilade” are the songs he composed for the film “Diary Of A Butterfly” (2012) and they have been sung by himself, Vasudha Sharma, Akriti Kakkar and Apeksha Dandekar.
He was awarded the Best International Artist Award at the UK Asian Music Awards in 2005.
