C. Ramchandra conceived the nonsensical lyrics of the song's mukhda when he was working one day and was distracted by his children who were singing the nursery rhyme "Eenie Meenie Miny Moe". His Goan assistant John Gomes added the Konkani line "Maaka Naaka", meaning "I don't want". The two then went on to compose the tune based on these dummy lyrics which Rajendra Krishan retained in the final song.[1]
