This song illustrated the chemistry between Shammi Kapoor and Mohammed Rafi. It was the norm for Kapoor to be present for the recording of his songs. He would tell Rafi how he would perform the song sequence and Rafi would modulate his voice accordingly. This song, however, was recorded when Shammi Kapoor was out of town. When Shammi heard that the song had been recorded in his absence, he was furious. Later when he listened to the song, he congratulated Rafi for anticipating his on-screen antics to perfection and singing the song accordingly.
Looking for an image makeover, Sharmila Tagore announced that she would be wearing a bikini for this film and did a bikini photoshoot for Filmfare. Her cover photo in the August 19, 1966 issue of the magazine became the talk of the town and was even discussed in the question hour in the parliament. The film's director, Shakti Samanta, however, not wanting to risk censor cuts, asked her to wear a swimsuit for the song instead of a bikini.[1]
The hero in this song, Shammi Kapoor, had trouble lip-syncing it due to the noise of the helicopter used in the song. To overcome this problem, the director Shakti Samanta himself sang the song so Shammi Kapoor could read his lips and sync with it.[2]
