- Majrooh Sultanpuri took the first line of this song from Faiz Ahmed Faiz's nazm "Mujhse Pehli Si Mohabbat Mere Mehboob Na Maang". Faiz's poem was set to music by Rasheed Attre for the Pakistani film "Qaidi" (1962). In fact, the tune of this Pakistani film song, sung by Noor Jehan, seems to be the basis of the Hindi film song "Aaina Mujhse Meri Pehli Si Soorat Maangi" ("Daddy", 1991).[1]
- While this song was a Rafi solo in the music release, its film version had a couple of lines sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Her lines were added after the song's second antara.
