Trivia

  • This song was an adaptation of the 1979 hit single "Video Killed The Radio Star" by the one-hit wonder, The Buggles.[1]
  • This song earned Usha Uthup the ire of the West Bengal Left leader Jatin Chakraborty, who accused her of "apasanskriti" (bad culture or decadence). She was banned from performing in state-sponsored events and halls in the state. Usha Uthup sued the state of West Bengal for discrimination. She went on to win the case and the ban was lifted.[2]
  • The tune of this song was reused for a song in the Telugu remake of this film - "Vayyarama Nuvvu Aadu Paadu" ("Disco King", 1984).
