- The tune of the mukhda of the song "Palat - Tera Hero Idhar Hai" ("Main Tera Hero", 2014), composed by Sajid - Wajid, was similar to this song. Sajid acknowledged the similarity and said that while he and Wajid were big R.D. Burman fans, their tune was different and not the result of any conscious attempt to copy this song.[1][2]
- In an interview in 2018, Amitabh Bachchan said it was he who had composed the tune of this song. However, it is commonly acknowledged that the tune of this song was adapted from the Persian song "Hele Mali" (1978) by the Iranian artist Zia Atabay.[3]
- This song had to be shot on the sets of the film "Namak Halaal" (1982) due to constraints of budget and schedule.[4]
