- It appears that it was Lata Mangeshkar who suggested the tune for the mukhda of this song to Laxmikant - Pyarelal. In an interview, she said that she had learnt the tune from her maternal grandmother. Laxmikant - Pyarelal used the same tune again for "Saanwariya Main Khadi Rahoon Ki Chali Jaoon Re (Mori Patli Kamar Lambe Baal Re)" ("Aatank", 1996). C. Ramchandra had used the tune previously for "Tu Na Aaya Aur Hone Lagi Shaam Re Saanwariya Main Khadi Rahoon Ki Chali Jaoon Re" ("Aasha", 1957).[1][2][3]
