R.D. Burman built upon this theme to compose the song "Aaja Aaja Meri Jaan" sung by S.P. Balasubramaniam. The song was supposed to be part of a non-film album and was used in the promos for the film "Aaja Meri Jaan" (1993). The non-film album was shelved and the song was not included in the film, but T-Series did release the song eventually.
Other than "Aaja Meri Jaan" sung by S.P. Balasubramaniam, R.D. Burman also used this composition for the Bengali song "Tumi Kato Je Dure" for a Pujo album. R.D. Burman and Asha Bhosle sang the Bengali version.
While this theme was the genesis for "Aaja Aaja Meri Jaan" and "Tumi Kote Je Dure", Pancham had already used the base tune earlier in the song "Aaja Mere Pyar Aaja" ("Heeralaal Pannalaal", 1978).
