The song had a line - "Mere baanke naach ki saiyan machi Roos mein dhoom" - filmed on actress Padmini. This was a reference to the actress's performance in the Indo-Russian film production "Pardesi" (1957).[1]
The song, filmed on Kishore Kumar and Padmini, made references to their real-life identities and featured words in Bengali and Tamil. Kishore Kumar, the "Bangali chhokra", had roots in West Bengal and Padmini, the "Madrasi chhokri", was a South Indian. The song featured the line "Pappi tujhe pukaarti Gangoli yaaram", a play on the actors' real-life names. Pappi was Padmini's nickname and Gangoli was the surname of Kishore Kumar aka Abhas Kumar Ganguly.
