Trivia

  • R.D. Burman's tune for the mukhda of this song was adapted from an interlude his father S.D. Burman had used, with the younger Burman as an assistant, in the song "Aaj Ki Junli Raat Ma" ("Talash", 1969). The senior Burman's interlude itself used the tune of the musical piece "Romance" composed by Sergei Prokofiev. Prokofiev had originally composed this piece for the Russian film "Lieutenant Kije" (1933) and later included it in an orchestral suite of the same title. The British artist Sting also used this piece in an interlude of his song "Russians" (1985).[1][2][3]
