- Shailendra had originally written the words of this song's mukhda in a note addressed to Shankar - Jaikishan. The lyricist was apparently unhappy with the duo and the note was meant to gently rebuke them. According to one account, Shailendra was peeved that he was not getting film offers and that his friends Shankar - Jaikishan had not helped him out by recommending him to producers. Another story was that the lyricist had written the note after the music directors signed "College Girl" (1960) with Rajendra Krishan as the lyricist. It was their first film without Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri.[1][2][3]
