The prelude of this instrumental track was inspired by Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (1975). R.D. Burman used the composition of this prelude in two other songs - the Bengali song "Tumi Kato Je Dure" sung by him and Asha Bhosle for a Pujo album, and the non-film song "Aaja Aaja Meri Jaan" sung by S.P. Balasubramaniam and Anuradha Paudwal. In addition to "Tumi Kato Je Dure" and "Aaja Aaja Meri Jaan", the tune of R.D. Burman's vocalisation in this theme song was also used in the song "Aaja Mere Pyar Aaja" ("Heeralaal Pannalaal", 1978). [1][2][3][4]
This theme track was not part of the film's original audio release. However, Universal released it separately as part of a compilation of instrumental tracks composed by R.D. Burman. Some later versions of the film album included this track as well.
