- This was one of the original tunes Ilaiyaraaja composed for this film. He later reused this composition for the Tamil film song "En Vaazhvile" ("Thambikku Entha Ooru", 1984).
- This Ilaiyaraaja composition replaced the original Tamil film song "Poongaatru" ("Moondram Pirai", 1982) in the Hindi remake. He had used the musical piece played on the flute in the second interlude of the Hindi version song in the second interlude of "Poongaatru" as well.
- Cover versions of this song were recorded for the film "Prague" (2013) and "Dear Zindagi" (2016).[1][2]
- Ilaiyaraaja recorded some of the film's songs, this one included, in Bombay. Kersi Lord helped him arrange local session musicians for it. Bhupinder Singh played the acoustic guitar in the song, Sunil Kaushik played the electric guitar, and Franco Vaz played the drums. A.R. Rahman, who was part of Ilaiyaraaja's team at the time, played the keyboards in the songs.[3]
