- P.L. Santoshi's rise a director corresponded with the rise of the lead heroine in his films, Rehana. Santoshi fell in love with Rehana but it remained unrequited. It is said that this 1952 song picturized on Rehana was Santoshi's expression of his broken heart.[1]
- Hemant Kumar used the tune of this song's mukhda for the mukhda of the Bengali film song "Tumi To Jano Na" ("Suryatoran", 1958).[2]
