- This was S.D. Burman's first Hindi film song as a singer in more than a decade. Prior to this, he had sung a couple of songs for the Hindi film "Eight Days" (1946).[1]
- Lines from this song were used in the background scores of two Hindi films released in 1973 - "Abhimaan" (1973), with music by S.D. Burman, and in the otherwise songless "Achanak" (1973) which had Vasant Desai's score.[2][3]
- S.D. Burman's son R.D. Burman adapted the mukhda of this song for a line in the song "Tu Maike Mat Jaiyo" ("Pukar", 1983).[4]
