  • While the film version of this song was sung by Asha Bhosle, the version issued on the original 78 rpm records was sung by Geeta Dutt. In later music releases, however, Geeta Dutt's version was replaced by the film version sung by Asha Bhosle.
  • The lyrics of this song's mukhda were inspired by the lines Mirza Ghalib had written in honour of Bahadur Shah Zafar - "Tum salamat raho hazaar baras / Har baras ke hon din pachaas hazaar".
