- Kishore Kumar had wanted to sing this song without the interludes music director Khayyam had composed. Khayyam had accepted the singer's suggestion but when this version was recorded, Kishore was not happy with the result and acknowledged his mistake. Khayyam then told Kishore that the interludes served a purpose. He had included them for the director to show flashbacks of the happier times of the estranged couple who were singing this song.[1]
