The arrangement in this song was sampled from Pet Shop Boys' "Heart".[1]
This is one of the songs in Divya Bharti's short career for which she is best remembered. To pay homage to her, Sajid Nadiadwala, who was married to her at the time, paid the music label Saregama about 1.5 crore rupees to include this song in his directorial debut, "Kick" (2014). The song was used in the film in a scene in a nightclub, with Salman Khan dancing to it.[2][3]
Director Rajiv Rai usually wanted tunes for songs to come before the lyrics. In this instance, however, the lyrics came first. This is because Rai was particular about using the phrase "Saat samundar paar" in the song. Lyricist Anand Bakshi had used this phrase before in the Hindi film song "Pappa Jaldi Aa Jaana" ("Taqdeer", 1967) and Rai felt that it would be appropriate in this song.[4][5]
