Trivia

  • The tune of the first part of this song was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's "Ore Jhar Neme Aay" and "Kothao Amar Hariye Jaoar Nei Mana". R.D. Burman's father S.D. Burman had used a similar tune earlier for the title music for "Sujata" (1959). The junior Burman himself had used this tune earlier in the Bengali film song "Bandha Dwarer Andhakare" ("Rajkumari", 1970) as well the title music for the same film.[1][2][3][4]
  • This was the first time Nasir Husain experimented with a song sequence in a medley format. The medley consisted of two original compositions followed by two lines from R.D. Burman's hit song from another film - "Dum Maaro Dum" ("Hare Rama Hare Krishna", 1971). Husain went on to use this format - extending the concept even more - in two more films - "Hum Kisise Kum Naheen" (1977) and "Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai" (1981).[5][6][7]
