Trivia

  • This was the first Hindi film duet sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. The singers tell an interesting story behind the recording of this song. While on her way to the recording studio for this song, Lata Mangeshkar suspected a man of following her. She was worried when the man followed her right into the studio. Her concerns were put to ease only when music director Khemchand Prakash introduced the young man as Kishore Kumar, her duet partner for the song. This theme - of a woman suspecting a man of following her and finding out later that both had the same destination - was used in several Hindi films. Dev Anand and Shakila enacted this theme in "C.I.D." (1956), Dev Anand and Nanda in "Teen Devian" (1965), and Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee in "Manzil" (1977).[1][2][3][MR7]
